KARACHI: AKU gets $0.5m for research

KARACHI, Oct 14: The Aga Khan University in collaboration with the University of Alabama at Birmingham, USA, has been awarded a grant of US dollar 0.5 million from the Fogarty International Center of the United States National Institute of Health to co-develop research training courses for Pakistani health professionals.

The five-year programme to be conducted in Karachi and abroad is meant for healthcare providers wishing to advance their expertise in occupational and environmental health. The department has already conducted studies in environmental lead exposure and adverse health impacts of water quality. —APP
