Three brothers killed over land dispute

MANSEHRA, March 30: Three brothers were killed in Kandia area of Kohistan over a land dispute on Wednesday.

Sources said that the families of Alamzeb and Fazal Qadir had an ongoing dispute over a piece of an agricultural land, which had already claimed lives of several people in the past.

They said that Qadir and his brothers Anwar and Qamar went to the disputed land. This enraged the members of Alamzab group, who opened fire on Qadir and his brothers, killing all of them on the spot, the sources said.

Mohammad Ayub, an official of the Kohistan police, confirmed the incident and said that police had been dispatched to the area.

JAIL SENTENCE: A local court has sentenced a man and woman to three years in jail over tying a not while the latter was already married.

Last year, a married woman (S) of Shamdara area in Oghi had eloped with Waseem and later married him. Oghi police had lodged the FIR on the complaint of husband of the woman and late arrested the accused. Addition district and sessions judge, Oghi, Mohammad Shafique after hearing the arguments sentenced Waseem and the woman to three years in jail. They were also fined Rs50,000 each.—Correspondent
