Shopkeeper kidnapped with servant

NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, March 9: A shopkeeper and his servant were reportedly kidnapped from near Halani on Tuesday.

Chankomal, 28, who deals in grocery, and his servant Amjad Ali Mallah, 24, after closing their business at about 9:30pm, had left for their homes on a motorbike but could not reach there.

Their relatives began a search for them and could find only their motorcycle in a ditch near a temple.

Uncle of kidnapped Chankomal, Sacha Nand said that they were poor, and showed his inability to meet kidnappers demand for ransom.

Amjad Ali's uncle Shabbir Ahmed Mallah termed the incident kidnapping for ransom. “We had not received any demand for ransom as yet”, he added.

Their relatives said that foot prints of the kidnappers had been found near the motorcycle and a formal FIR would be lodged after ascertaining hideout of the kidnappers with the help of sniffer dogs.

Our Nawabshah correspondent adds: Police have booked unidentified accused on the charge of kidnapping a teenage daughter and a three year daughter of a Rangers official.
