Women, two daughters shot dead in Koha

KOHAT, March 6: Unknown armed men forcibly entered a house in Taulanj and killed a woman and her two daughters on Rawalpindi road on Sunday.The husband of slain woman remained unhurt in the indiscriminate fire which also left her two other children injured. The police termed the incident as a result of a family feud.

The Gumbat police said Gul Ahmed informed them that unidentified armed men entered his house and opened fire at the inmates. As a result his wife Basmina Bibi and daughters Shahida Bibi and Raida Bibi died on the spot. While his other daughter Taif Laqa and 12-year-old son, Waheedullah, were seriously injured.

The Gumbat police shifted the bodies and the injured to the hospital and launched investigations. The complainant did not nominate any one in the FIR, police said.

PEACE FESTIVAL: The Corps Commander, Peshawar, Yaseen Malik inaugurated a week-long peace festival for fun-starved and militancy-hit public at Garrison Ground on Sunday.

He visited the various stalls and asked the officials to make all necessary arrangements so that the women and children could enjoy the festival. He was accompanied by other officials. The festival contains 150 different stalls and would be opened for women and children from today (Monday).

RAID: The Hangu police raided several hideouts of criminals in Sarakdana and nabbed seven suspects with arms on Sunday.

The police team also recovered five Kalashnikovs, five rifles and 250 cartridges from the accused who belonged to the tribal area.

COMMITS SUICIDE: A disgruntled student of third year committed suicide by firing a shot in his head in Ustarzai village on Sunday.

The Ustarzai police said Khizar Hayat who was a student of third year at Commerce College, Kohat was upset for some days and committed suicide with a pistol in Kamal Khel locality.
