WASHINGTON, Oct 7: The United States on Monday declared itself “deeply troubled” by Israel’s raids in the Gaza Strip that have killed numerous Palestinian civilians and demanded an investigation.

“We’re deeply troubled by the reports of Israeli actions that resulted in the deaths of many Palestinian civilians,” State Deparment spokesman Richard Boucher said.

“While the details still remain uncertain, Israeli operations were undertaken in crowded civilian areas and involved firing on a medical facility,” he said.—AFP
