Three DSPs punished by IGP

LAHORE, Feb 20: Punjab Inspector General of Police Javed Iqbal has penalised three DSPs on different charges.

Awarding punishment to DSP Rab Nawaz Tariq, former SDPO of Makhdoom Rashid, Multan, the IGP withheld his promotion for five years (when due), forfeited five years service and suspended three years increment.

Tariq was found guilty of charges levelled against him in three separate show cause notices issued to him for corrupt practices. Former Khanewal DPO Muhammad Kamran Khan was the inquiry officer in this case. Similarly, the promotion of DSP Zulfiqar Hussain Shah, Kahuta SDPO, Rawalpindi, was withheld for five years (when due) on different charges endorsed by CPO and RPO, Rawalpindi. DSP Zahid Hussain Naqvi, former SDPO of Sadar division, Bhakkar, was found guilty of charges by the Sargodha RPO.

The IGP withheld his promotion for three years (when due) and stopped increments for three years. — APP
