KARACHI, Oct 7: The Nazim of Karachi, Naimatullah, inaugurated at least 10 big projects of parks, fountains, monuments and roundabout in the city on Monday in connection with his campaign to make Karachi a ‘Green City’.

These projects have been established in North Karachi, Gulberg, Liaqatabad and Shah Faisal Towns.

The Nazim inaugurate a big park in North Karachi Sector-A, where a jogging track, fountain and lake and other recreational facilities have been provided. Spread over 2.5 acres, the park had been incomplete for the last 15 years.

On the occasion, a committee headed of noted lawyer Muslim Shamim was set up to look after the park.

The Nazim also inaugurated parks in Sectors 11-A and 11-C/1 and other areas. He also inaugurated a fountain on the main highway in the area.

North Karachi Town Nazim Shafiqur Rehman Usmani and councillors of the Town were also present.

Meanwhile, the City Nazim inaugurate a Family Park at UC No. 5 of Liaqatabad Town. He also inaugurated floodlights at Mohammadia Ground and Maulana Tahirul Qadri Park. Town Nazim Dr Pervez Mehmood and UC Nazim Goharul Islam were also present.—APP
