Four men shot dead over land dispute

SUKKUR, Feb 14: Four people were killed and three injured in an attack in Karampur near Kandhkot on Monday.

A group of men of Choliyani community were sitting in a restaurant, when some armed men believed to be Bijaranis opened fire on them, killing Sikander, Saifur Rehman, Sajjad and Naveed, all Choliyani by caste, on the spot. Hazoor Bux Chachar, Mumtaz Cholaini and Noor Ahmed Bijarani suffered injuries.

Karampur police took the bodies and the injured to a nearby hospital and the bodies were handed over to relatives after post-mortem.

The attack is reportedly an offshoot of a running dispute over a piece of land between the Choliyanis and the Bijaranis.

No case was registered till late Monday night.
