Conspiracy being hatched against me: Hamid Kazmi

MULTAN: Former federal minister for religious affairs Syed Hamid Saeed Kazmi said on Monday that issuance of arrest warrants against him without any solid proof by FIA indicate that a conspiracy was being hatched against him.

While addressing a press conference, Kazmi said that he appeared before an FIA team for questioning a day before warrants were issued.

He requested the Supreme Court to call ambassador Umar Khan Ali Sheerzai, Home Secretary Punjab Shahid Khan and Ameer of Tableghi Jamat, Maulana Abdul Wahab before announcing verdict.

Kazmi informed that FIA had failed to prove any corruption against him so far. He said he was never involved in any corruption.

He further added that Maulana Abdul Wahab and Shahid Khan had given written statements in his favour and rejected the allegations.

About bank accounts, Kazmi said that details submitted in court by FIA were totally different from those aired in media.

He also levelled allegations that the JUI was launching a campaign against him to get the ministry of religious affairs.
