Sanitary store looted at gunpoint

RAWALPINDI, Feb 13: A sanitary-ware store was looted in Sadiqabad here on Sunday at gunpoint by four robbers who entered into the store in the garb of the customers.

Ashiq Abbasi, Ansir Abbasi and two employees were busy in their routine business at the store 'Abbasi Traders' when four unidentified persons came there.

Ashiq Abbasi said first they posed themselves as customers but later, they pulled out their guns and made them hostage. He said two of the gunmen were speaking local language while their two other accomplices remained silent till they left the shop with loot.

He said the gunmen wearing Shalwar Kameez and shawls snatched Rs140,000 in cash and four cell phones from the hostages and walked away.

“We couldn't see them whether they were on foot or on a vehicle because they locked all of us inside a room before leaving the store,” Ashiq Abbasi said.

Later, the police were called on the crime scene. The police officials visited the crime scene, stayed there for sometimes asked some questions from the robbery victims and left the scene.

Ashiq Abbasi said after the incident, his brother had been visiting the police station to get the case registered.

Meanwhile, Cantonment Board Model School principal was robbed by two unidentified gunmen in the Civil Lines police area.

Ms Naheeda Ghafoor, principal CB Model School was on her way to home when two unidentified motorbike riders intercepted her and pointed gun at her. They snatched her purse containing Rs13,000 in cash and a cell phone.
