Four hurt in Dera blast

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Feb 9: Four persons received injuries in a roadside explosion here on Wednesday, police said.

They said that a remote-controlled bomb, planted at a bicycle in Modal Town on Multan Road, went off and injured four persons. One of the injured persons was stated to be in critical condition. The injured were identified as Sohail, Imtiaz, Waheed and Abdul Salam. They were taken to district headquarters hospital. The officials of bomb disposal squad said that four to five kilograms of explosives were used in the blast.

In Kohat, militants tried to blow up the 132KV heavy transmission line, which supplies power from Kala Bagh to Peshawar and Punjab province, on Wednesday. Militants had planted a time bomb at Mangala on the Kohat-Punjab border that damaged the power supply line. The bomb disposal squad reached the spot soon after the blast and collected evidences. However, Wapda officials said that the damaged to the transmission line was minor.— Dawn Report
