Ailing state carrier Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) cancelled flights to Britain and Turkey on February 8, 2011, affecting hundreds of passengers after staff went on strike, a spokesman said. Pilots, crew and kitchen staff are demanding that management reinstate five pilots suspended on disciplinary grounds and are protesting against a proposed code share agreement with Turkish Airlines. The move grounded two international and four domestic flights.
