Judge`s parents: 5-day remand of third accused granted

LAHORE, Jan 30: A court on Sunday granted a five-day physical remand of the third accused in the case pertaining to the murder of parents of Justice Javed Iqbal, an apex court judge.

Led by Punjab Deputy Prosecutor General Rana Bakhtiar, the police officials produced the accused in the court of Model Town duty magistrate Ms Bushra Fareed. The police had arrested the third accused, Ameen, on Saturday.

Rana Bakhtiar, while pleading the case on behalf of state, prayed to the court to grant a 14-day physical remand of the accused.

However, the court granting a five-day physical remand of the accused, instructed the officials to produce him again on February 3.

The two other accused in the case, Naveed Iqbal, a step-brother of Justice Javed Iqbal, and his alleged accomplice Abbas, have already been arrested.
