6.3 magnitude quake jolts different parts of Pakistan

 

ISLAMABAD: An earthquake measuring a 6.3 magnitude on the Richter scale jolted parts of Pakistan on Monday but there were no immediate reports of casualties or damages, DawnNews reported.

The earthquake struck Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Peshawar at 7.45 am local time at a depth of 61 kilometres and its epicentre was in Tajikistan.

Severe tremors were also felt in several cities in the northwest province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Buner, Mansehra, Swat, Balakot, Malakand, Hazara division, Murree and certain areas of the Punjab province, the meteorological department said.
