MUZAFFARABAD, Jan 10: An absconder, charged with dual murder, was arrested in the Poonch district on Monday more than 33 years after the commission of crime.

Abdul Ghafoor was accused of killing Abdul Rehman and Rasheed in 1977 at the age of 12, suspecting them of murdering his brother.

After the commission of crime, he fled to Afghanistan and remained there for two decades.

Later, he came to Pakistan and spent time in different areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Last year, the accused returned to his native village in Poonch district after learning about the illness of his mother and started earning his livelihood as a labourer.

However, as he came to see his relatives in Chak village on the outskirts of Rawalakot, the CIA police busted him.
