750 outlaws nabbed

MANSEHRA, Jan 1: Mansehra police claim having arrested 750 outlaws during the year 2010.

DPO Sohail Khalid, speaking at a press conference here on Saturday, said as many as 750 outlaws, most of them wanted in heinous crimes, were arrested.

He said Mansehra police also arrested three terrorists who were wanted in many subversive activities in the Hazara region.

He said 66 Kalashnikovs, 206 rifles, 509 shotguns, 976 pistols and revolvers were recovered.

He said over 2 tones of explosives and 5,000 detonators along with the safety fuses were also seized.

He said the ratio of murders and attempt to murder incidents remained low in year 2010 as compared to year 2009. He said 60kg charas, 2kg heroin, 8kg opium and 1,858 bottles of local and foreign liquor were seized. Mr Khalid said two cases of kidnapping for ransom were foiled and kidnappers including two women were arrested.
