Man, woman killed to save honour

PESHAWAR, Dec 28: A man and a woman were killed in an honour related incident in New Garhi village of Bakhshi Pul area early on Tuesday, police said.

An official of Daudzai police station while quoting the statement of the accused, Hameesh Gul, said that he was away when his neighbour, Nabi Khan, entered his house.

“When I returned home, I found Nabi Khan with my wife in compromising position and killed them on the spot,” he stated.

However, another official told Dawn that both of them had been hanged, as the bodies bore signs of asphyxiation. The investigation, he said, were underway in this regard.

A double-murder case has been registered at the Daudzai police station.
