RAWALPINDI, Dec 27: The court of a magistrate here on Monday sent one of the accused in the car racing tragedy case to Adiala Jail on 14 days' judicial remand.

The area magistrate did not accept the request of the investigators for two more days' physical custody of Waleed Aman, an employee of Bahria Town, to investigate him for the whereabouts of the other men wanted in the case.

The police had obtained two days' physical remand of the accused on Saturday after he was arrested from the district court premises when his pre-arrest bail was rejected by an additional district and sessions judge.

Majid Naeem, the driver of the car that crushed five spectators during the car racing event at Bahria Town Phase-VIII on December 5, is also in the police custody. However, two other accused, Sheikh Atif, the alleged organiser of the event, and Ali Riaz, the chief executive officer of Bahria Town, are still at large.
