ON Dec 2 a school in Karachi held a Grandparents Day where the grandparents of the nursery class students were also invited. It is good that the school thought of holding such a day.The young students were dressed in their best and one or two students were dressed in fancy costumes to suit the occasion.

The children recited English poems they were taught and showed a fine example of discipline by obeying as their teachers-in-charge asked them to do.

It would be nice if such an event is made a regular feature in every school where grandparents are invited and may be requested to say a few words, if they like, to the nursery students to show their respect, love, and help the grandparents in their small jobs from childhood.

Let all private and government schools having nursery classes see if they can hold such a Grandparents' Day to make small children realise the importance of their living grandparents in a family from childhood.
