Iqbal Hameed-ur-Rehman appointed IHC chief justice

ISLAMABAD: Justice Iqbal Hameed-Ur-Rehman was appointed chief justice of the Islamabad High Court on Saturday. The decision was taken by the Judicial Commission, in a session chaired by Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry in the capital.

Meanwhile, five judges of the Balochistan High Court were granted a one-year service extension.

In addition to the CJP, other attendees of the session of the Judicial Commission included the chief justices of the Balochistan and Sindh high courts, Federal Law Minister Babar Awan, Attorney General of Pakistan Maulvi Anwar-ul-Haq and member of the Pakistan Bar Council Khalid Ranjha.
