Policemen injured in roadside blast

PESHAWAR, Nov 28: Five policemen sustained injuries when their van was hit by a roadside blast in Baghbanan area in the outskirts of the city here on Sunday.The van of the Urmer police carrying five personnel was on a routine patrol when the bomb went off. All the policemen sustained injuries while the van was badly damaged. The wounded policemen were identified as sub-inspector Mohammad Ullah, head constable Rahim Shah, driver Nazakat, and constables Adnan and Zahid.

The injured were rushed to the Lady Reading Hospital where first aid treatment was provided to them.

According to police, the bomb contained 15kg explosive. A case has been registered and investigations are under way.
