Factory worker killed

KARACHI, Nov 23: At least three gunmen stormed into the house of a textile worker in the early hours of Tuesday and shot him dead, police said.Though the family denied the victim had any enmity with anyone, the police believed the murder was not the result of a robbery attempt.

“It was a pre-dawn incident,” said Inspector G.A. Sheikh, the SHO of the Korangi Industrial Area police station. “Three armed men jumped into the house of 45-year-old Tahir Bajwa and fired multiple shots at him while he was asleep with other family members. He died on the spot and the attackers left the home in a flash.”

He said the victim was a worker in an industrial unit in the Korangi Industrial Area and lived in a rented home with his wife and four children.

“The victim originally hailed from Faisalabad. Though his family denies he had any history of enmity or a dispute, the armed men seemed to have come to kill him and there must be some reason behind that. The investigations are in an early phase and may take time to determine the motive behind the murder,” said the SHO of the KIA police station.
