Trader`s employee slain in Gujjarpura

LAHORE, Nov 21: An unidentified man allegedly slew a young man and injured another, both servants of a businessman, with a sharp-edged weapon on Imtiaz Road in Gujjarpura on Sunday.

The motive for the attack was not yet established by the police.

Quoting the injured identified as Riasat, Civil Lines division SP Muhammad Omer Saeed said an unidentified man entered the house-cum-factory of Anwer Khan and attacked his co-worker Shahzad with a sharp-edged weapon.

The suspect also abused Shahzad, who was present in the factory at ground floor.

After hearing screams of Shahzad, Riasat, who was on the first storey, came downstairs and tried to catch the suspect.

The suspect attacked Riasat too. After injuring the two the accused fled the scene.

They were rushed to Services Hospital where Shahzad of Rawalpindi was pronounced dead.

The SP said police found cash and cell phones of both the victims intact. He said it was premature to establish that the man was a robber. He said Riasat of Narang Mandi was stable. Anwer and his family were away at the time of the incident.SHOT DEAD:A 22-year-old youth was gunned down allegedly by his relative over an issue involving a girl in Muniawala locality of Burki on Sunday.

Police said Irfan Masih of Chungi Gujjarpura had gone to his cousin's home in Muniawala to attend a ceremony where the suspect identified as Waheed Masih was also present.

Waheed, who already warned Irfan to avoid visiting his area as he had got an acquaintance with Waheed's sister, became infuriated. After an argument, Waheed opened fire on Irfan who succumbed to his injuries in hospital.

In another incident, a young man shot dead his sister for 'honour' in Guggian Nagra locality of Sherakot on Sunday. Police said accused Muhammad Jameel after quarrelling with his sister Rehana Bibi shot her dead and escaped.
