BADIN, Nov 20: Sindh Home Minister Dr Zulfiqar Ali Mirza has said that he is a doctor and can easily operate on a patient and he is determined to conduct an operation against terrorists.

Speaking at a ceremony for launch of a new ambulance service by Muneer Welfare Trust here on Friday evening, the minister said that those who had no fear of death could succeed in achieving their aims.

“I love death and there is no force on the earth which can prevent me from continuing with my mission,” he said and added “I swear by Sindh's soil and the blood of Bibi that I will never bargain or trade Sindh's single inch or a paisa for any personal gains”.

He said that the government was struggling for the rights of future generations. Shaheed Bhuttos believed in youths and he also believed in them and would never compromise their rights at any cost, he said.

Dr Mirza said that the government had done some important work in public interest and it was determined to get permanent solutions of all problems.

In response to a speaker's demand, he said that he was a doctor and could easily operate on a patient and he was determined to conduct an operation against terrorists in the society. People should wait till operational procedures were completed, he said.

He announced donation of an ambulance on behalf of his grandson, Salar Mirza, for the trust and expressed the hope that the trust would play its role in saving people's lives. A piece of plot would be provided to the trust for construction of a shelter home in Badin, he said.

Founder of the trust Dr Muneer Bhurgari said that the main objective of the trust was to serve the ailing humanity and the ambulance service would be extended to all areas of the five talukas of Badin district.

He said that steps would also be taken for the welfare of senior citizens and funds would be collected for provision of free healthcare and medication to the aged and retired persons.

The Trust was expanding its services and would set up a Shelter Home in Badin, he said.

Niaz Panhwar, editor of a Sindh daily, welcomed an Edhi-like trust for the welfare and well-being of people and appealed to philanthropists and the well-to-do to donate liberally for the noble cause.

MPA Dr Sikandar Mandhro, Kamal Khan Chang, former district nazim, Prof Abdullah Mallah and others also spoke at the ceremony. INSANITATION:

The town administration which had already failed to repair leaking sewerage lines and overflowing gutters have done nothing to clean away blood of slaughtered animals in many areas of the town.

A visit to different areas on the third day of Eid on Friday showed a complete collapse of civic infrastructure and no sanitary worker was seen cleaning overflowing gutters and animal waste.

People complained that the administration had done nothing to improve the situation.

Riaz Ahmed Bhurgari said that no sweeper had come to clean the area near Muaz Bin Jabbal mosque since last six months and even on Eid day no sweeper came to drain out water standing on the road.

Rais Ahmed Khan Bhurgari of Bhurgari mohalla complained that they were living in unhygienic conditions and suffering due to callous attitude of the authorities.

Flies, insects and mosquitoes had invaded the town and overflowing sewage, particularly in Bhurgari Mohalla and Gharibabad had turned into veritable breeding grounds of diseases, he said.
