KOHAT, Nov 15: Unidentified persons took away a generator and a stabiliser from a bank on Hangu Road on Sunday night, police said.
The officials of Sherkot branch of Habib Bank Limited lodged FIR with Ustarzai police, saying when they arrived at the office they found the locks of the main gate broken.
They said that after checking the cash and other equipment they found that robbers had taken away a generator and stabiliser. They told police that the watchman was not present in the bank at the time of incident.
They claimed that robbers failed to break the strong room of the bank therefore cash was safe. “Owing to deteriorating law and order situation in the area, the watchman of bazaars and government buildings usually go to their homes at night,” officials said.
BAN: The district coordination officer on Monday placed a ban on reconstruction of damaged houses and sale and purchase of land near Kohat Toi for two months.
According to a notification issued by DCO Shahidullah Khan, reconstruction of houses damaged during recent floods near Kohat Toi has been banned.
Similarly, sale and purchase of Toi land, which is a government property, has also been stopped for two months.
It may be recalled that people suffered huge losses when their houses constructed on the bed of the Toi (river) were washed away by heavy rains and flash floods.
