Two kidnap victims freed

SHIKARPUR, Nov 14: Two persons kidnapped by outlaws were freed by police after an encounter in the forest of Golo Daro on Sunday.

A police party raided the village of Roos Marfani in the forest and after an exchange of firing with the kidnappers, recovered Asif Ali Chukhuro and Altaf Chukhuro.

Police have arrested six suspects of Marfani and Bakhrani tribes.

Asif Ali and Altaf were kidnapped 12 days ago when they were asleep near their paddy field.

RALLY: On the call of Citizens Alliance, people took out a procession and held a demonstration in Khanpur on Sunday in protest against delay in issuing Watan cards to flood-affected people of Khanpur taluka.

They also demanded immediate supply of relief goods. Our Sukkur correspondent adds:

Jacobabad police claimed on Sunday to have freed a man from bandits who had kidnapped him 10 days ago in the village of Jaffer Buledi near Garhi Khairo.

Police said the man was freed after an encounter with the bandits.

The dacoits opened fire but fled after fired back, leaving Ghulam Mustafa Memon behind.
