KARACHI, Aug 22: Two ships carrying general cargo and chemicals are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.
Four others including Johar, Dagmar, Warbah and Khalid Ibn al-Waleed whose arrivals were delayed are also expected to arrive along with them.
Four ships, Swat to unload and load containers, Sorena and Yodo Gawa to offload crude oil and chemicals and Kirsten to load naptha were berthed after the sailing of as many.
The ships, which departed included Winco Feeder, Lanka Mahapola, APL Cairo, and Wan Hai-305, while Swat, Iran Sadr, Khalid Ibn al-Waleed, Sorena, and MOL Sincerity are due to sail out on Friday.
Owing to steady arrivals of tankers, the berth occupancy at the oil piers rose to 100 per cent but fell to 31 per cent at the dry wharves.
Cargo handling activity at the wharves was active where a total tonnage of 82,928 tons comprising 32,792 tons of export cargo including 19,000 tons of liquid cargo and 50,136 tons of import tonnage was handled.
The following ships are due on Friday: NCC Hijaz, with chemicals and Lord-P, with general cargo.
