ASTORE Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) would form a strong government in Gilgit-Baltistan region as the party has clinched majority of the seats in the recent legislative assembly elections of the area.
This was said by the President of Pakistan Peoples Party Gilgit-Baltistan and Chief Minister designate, Syed Mehdi Shah while talking to APP by telephone. He said that the recent free and fair legislative assembly elections had weakened the rigging charges raised by a few elements in the area.
He said that about 300 independent observers had monitored the election process of the Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly, added that they have commended the commission for holding free, fair and transparent polling in the area.
He said that Rs25 million had been allocated for the duty staff of GB elections and the amount was spent transparently.
He said there is no truth of misusing the funds of Benazir Income Support Program and Bait-ul-Maal.
He said all the voters cast the vote on presentation of national identity cards.—APP
