PESHAWAR, June 17 The NWFP social welfare department on Wednesday restarted registration of internally displaced persons from Malakand division and opened registration points in almost all parts of the province.

According to a handout issued here, Provincial Relief Commissioner and In charge Emergency Response Unit (ERU) Mohammad Azam Khan said that staff had been deputed for fresh registration.

“After getting registered at the registration points, the IDPs will be provided food and non-food items,” he added. The IDPs have been directed to get themselves registered in in Mardan, Swabi, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Malakand, Mansehra, Abbottabad and Haripur.

“The record of IDPs is computerised therefore those who have registered themselves earlier should desist from fresh registration,” the handout added.

Nadra representatives at the registration points will verify the national identity cards before of the displaced persons and issue them a token or NOC. The IDPs having Nadra token or NOC will be registered by the social welfare department.

The fresh IDPs will be issued relief kits after the registration and only the head of the family will be entitled for registration.
