Fluctuation, low voltage irk people
SUKKUR, May 16 Hide and seek of electricity for the last 18 hours is continuing as a result of which a large number of people have lost their precious electrical and electronic gadgets, and no high-up of Hesco is ready to explain actual reason behind the hide and seek of power.
It may be mentioned here that declared or undeclared load-shedding is continuing throughout upper Sindh with the advent of summer and Sukkur is the worst-hit city in this regard, as people of Sukkur are facing dual misery of load-shedding, low voltage, frequent tripping and power cuts on one pretext or the other.
The situation turned even worst between Friday and Saturday night, as apart from routine load-shedding, people experienced power fluctuation and hide and seek, which started from 200am and continued till 1030am.
But this, too, was short- lived, as once against power supply to Sukkur city disrupted at about 415 pm and was not restored till filing of this report.
Due to frequent outages and hide and seek of voltage, many people lost their precious electrical and electronic gadgets.
This correspondent repeatedly tried to contact chief executive officer Hesco, Hyderabad, but his cell phone remained switched-off, while the chief engineer power, Sukkur didn't bother to attend the call.
However, PRO to Hesco chief executive Sadiq Kobhar, told this correspondent that, long spells of outages and frequent tripping and power cuts were due to a fault, developed in the national transmission line, and overloading of grid stations in Sukkur, which would be rectified shortly.
