RAWALPINDI: Adequate water in Rawal Dam, says Wasa

RAWALPINDI, June 29: A spokesman for the Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) has said the city residents will not face water shortage as there is adequate water in Rawal Dam.

The spokesman said, due to the pre-monsoon rains, the reservoirs had enough water and the supply to the areas facing water shortage would soon be at normal level. Water supply to different areas of the city had been increased and water tankers were also providing the natural resource even to the remote localities, he added.

He maintained that the storage of water in the dam was adequate till September next and there was no matter of concern.

It is learnt that Wasa was working on a comprehensive plan for installing at least 12 tubewells in the city and this project is likely to be completed in two or three months.
