PESHAWAR, March 11 Pakistan grabbed overall third position in the eighth Azad University International judo championship held in Tehran, Iran.

A message received here on Wednesday said host Iran claimed first position. They fielded four teams besides 12 other participating countries including Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Kuwait, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Bulgaria, Syria.

Pakistan`s Mohammad Mehraj and Rana Adnan secured third positions in 90kg and 55kg categories respectively.

Tanvir Ahmed managed to reach the quarter-final of the 81kg category.—APP
