Hottest day in Nawabshah

NAWABSHAH, April 27: Dozens of people, including women and children, fainted due to scorching heat in Nawabshah and surrounding areas as temperature rose to record 48.5 degrees Celsius on Saturday.

The roads and streets of the city wore a deserted look on the hottest day of current season.

Motorcyclists were the worst sufferers as covering their heads and faces with caps and handkerchiefs did not provide them any relief. Doctors have advised people to remain indoors and keep wet towels on their heads while going out during day and drink more water.
