LAHORE, Nov 6: Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) announced on Saturday that it would extend help to ailing goalkeeper Mohammad Qasim suffering from cancer.

"Qasim has represented the country and we will help him in the best possible way," PHF president Gen Aziz Khan (retd) said.

He claimed PHF had helped Qasim when he was operated upon three months before and now it would again take care of his problems.

"We are waiting for Qasim's medical reports which are expected within a week. Then we will decide how we can help him," he said.

PHF has formed a five-member committee to prepare a list of former internationals facing financial problems.

"The PHF will support them (former players) financially from the earning of the forthcoming Champions Trophy," he said.

Olympians Tariq Aziz, Khawaja Zakauddin, Islahuddin Siddiqi, Akhtar Rasool and Rana Mujahid are the members of the committee.
