Pakistan, India to take part in Mini World Cup

NEW DELHI, Oct 21: Indian hockey team, along with arch rivals Pakistan will take part in an eight-nation meet, billed as the first ever 'Mini World Cup', to be held in Holland in August next year.

The eight-nation competition, is the biggest to be held in Holland after the World Cup.

It's like a mini World Cup and will involve all top countries in the world - Australia, Pakistan, India, Holland, Germany, South Korea, Spain and England.

Besides World Cup, the biggest tournament Holland has organised so far is BMW Trophy in 1990 in which seven countries took part.

Meanwhile, India will host the prestigious Champions Trophy in 2005. Chennai, venue for six-nation Champions Trophy, may host another six-nation event after laying of a new artro-turf in January.-PPI
