FAISALABAD: Two killed in 'encounter'

FAISALABAD, Aug, 14: Two people, including a proclaimed offender, were killed in police 'encounter' here on Saturday in Liaqatabad.

Police claimed that ASP Sheikh Naeem intercepted a suspected car in Civil Lines but its riders accelerated the vehicle.

The police team started chasing the four wheeler and intercepted it in the Liaqatabad area where an exchange of fire took place. As a result, Waseem Niaz and Rehan Ahmed died on the spot while two others managed their escape.

The police further claimed that Waseem Niaz was wanted in 32 cases of murder, attempted murder and dacoity.
