ABBOTTABAD: Accident leaves four policemen dead

ABBOTTABAD, Feb 21: Four constables died while 14 others were injured when a truck of Mansehra police crashed against a roadside tree near Muslimabad here on Saturday.

The ill-fated vehicle was carrying a police party for special duty to Haripur when its tyre burst near Muslimabad and hit a roadside tree, killing two constables on the spot and 16 others were injured.

The injured policemen were taken to Ayub Medical Complex where two others succumbed to their injuries. Two others were stated to be in critical condition in the hospital.

The victims were identified as Shehzad, Tufail, Shafqat Hussain and Niaz Mohammad. The injured included Ishtiaq Gul, Zawar Hussain, Tanveer Gul, Asad Fareed, Muzaffar, Tahir Nawaz, Yasir, Azhar, Abdul Saboor, Umer Khitab, Attaullah, Bilal, Luqman and Ali Asghar.
