KARACHI: Repair of Manghopir road urged

KARACHI, April 18: The Banaras Chowk-Garam Chashma section of Manghopir Road has still remained dangerous due to its dilapidated condition and potholes all along the portion, an NGO, the Sindh Shehri Federation, pointed out on Monday. It recalled that work on the first phase of the project under which the repair/reconstruction of the road was to be undertaken could not be launched as yet despite an allocation of Rs25 million in the city government budget for the current fiscal. The project was to be executed under the Tameer-i-Karachi Programme, it added.

It regretting that even tendering process had not been started to today although the financial year was coming to a close. It described the lethargy as ‘sheer neglect’ on the part of the city government.
