PWCCA also serves notice on PCB

KARACHI, Jan 28: The Pakistan Women's Cricket Control Association (PWCCA) through its legal advisers served a notice on the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Friday.

A top official of PWCCA said that the legal notice was served on the PCB in hope of resolving amicably the ongoing row with PWCCA.

"The PWCCA through its legal notice has informed the PCB that the women's wing, which has been set up by the chairman, is without any authority or mandate to do so and is in excess of his powers," she said.

The official said that the PCB did not have the authority to run the affairs of women cricket in Pakistan as it was not in its constitution and thus beyond its jurisdiction.

"The directions given to the PCB by the Lahore High Court on June 20, 2002 were to determine one genuine body of women's cricket association out of the existing three and to regulate it. "Therefore, to set up women's wing is exceeding and going beyond the mandate given by the LHC," she added. -PPI
