HYDERABAD, Oct 5: A bench of the Sindh High Court, Hyderabad, on Tuesday directed the DSP of the CID unit Hyder Bux Khoso to provide copies of his two inquiry reports to local People's Party Parliamentarians leader Makhdoom Fazal Hussain.

The order was given while the court was hearing a case of a girl, Nayab, missing since August 2003. The Hala taluka PPP leader's counsel sought time to file a counter-affidavit in the case.

He said his client, who had denied knowledge of whereabouts of the girl, was being unnecessarily dragged into the matter by the complainant. The DSP informed the court that the complainant and his prosecution witnesses had said in their statements that Mr Hussain had held a jirga on the issue.

He maintained that former investigating officers, sub-inspectors Hussain Bux Nizamani and Gul Sher Otho, had investigated the case for eight months but had failed to achieve positive results. He claimed that they knew actual facts of the case but they were not appearing before him for further investigation and disclosing details.

Accusing the two police officers responsible a spoiling the case, he informed the court that they had arrested only one of the accused. Meanwhile, the court adjourned hearing of bail applications of five accused - Ghulam Mustafa, Zulfikar, Pathani, Aachar and Mushtaq Ahmad - nominated in the case.

Rasheed Memon had sent an application to a member of an inspection team of the Sindh High Court, alleging that on Aug 20, 2003, Achar, Mai Panai, drug dealer Noor Mohammad, Sana and Shama kidnapped Nayab and when he reported the matter to the Hala police, SHO Hayat Rind, allegedly involved in the crime, refused to register an FIR. He feared that the accused might kill his daughter and other family members.
