New system to check finger prints installed

ISLAMABAD, Sept 7: The National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) has acquired automatic finger print identification system (AFIS) aimed to eliminate chances of duplicate and forged computerized national identity cards (CNICs).

The system was inducted into Nadra's establishment by a French firm after which Pakistan has come on the list of very few IT-advanced nations using the biometric technology.

In a ceremony at Nadra headquarters, Director-General Project Brig Zubair Ahmad signed the agreement with Phillipe Larcher, the Director of the French firm, Identification System SAGEM.
