Six uplift schemes approved

LAKKI MARWAT, May 21: The district development review committee approved at its meeting on Monday six development schemes worth Rs20.28 million under the Drought Emergency Recovery Assistance (DERA) and Khushhal Pakistan Programme (KPP).

The water supply scheme at Azarkhel/Sarga Khrukhel, rehabilitation/replacement of pumping machinery, supply of additional equipment to the water supply schemes affected by drought in the district, construction of 50 wells and lining of Gambila Lift Irrigation Canal will be undertaken under the DERA programme, while the construction of open wells with diesel pumps at Behramkhel will be completed under the KPP by June 30.

District Nazim Humayun Saifullah, who presiding over the meeting, appreciated the performance of works and services department, but expressed concern over the pace of work on various schemes.

He directed the authorities concerned to improve their performance to ensure early completion of all the public welfare schemes.
