LAHORE: PBCC decision on marks

LAHORE, May 27: The Punjab Boards Committee of Chairmen's decision to ban private candidates from appearing in science subjects and those papers requiring practical examinations will be implemented during the next 2005-07 academic session.

The PBCC has also approved rules and regulations and distribution of marks for different part-wise subjects of secondary school examinations. It has also re-distributed marks for different elective subjects in arts group.

The rules and regulations and new distribution of marks will be applicable to the students, who have been admitted to Class-IX in the current academic session. These candidates will appear for their Part-I (Class-IX) and Part-II (Class-X) annual examinations in 2005 and 2006, respectively.

According to the new distribution of marks, the science group with biology will carry 480 marks in Part-I (Class-IX) and 570 marks in Part-II (Class-X). While the science group with computer science subject will carry 470 marks in Part-I (Class-IX) and 580 marks in Part-II (Class-X).
