MULTAN: Teenager strangled on suspicion

MULTAN, May 2: A teenager was strangled and his body was thrown into a canal by two youths on suspicion of having relations with the sister of one of the accused, police said here on Sunday.

It was also reported that accused Safdar had killed Iftikhar Ahmad (16) on complaints of her sister that the deceased used to tease her. The police arrested both the accused, Safdar and Sajid Awan.

The police said the body of the deceased was recovered from Rajbah Tarpai canal late Saturday night. They said that Safdar and his friend Sajid had allegedly kidnapped Iftikhar and then strangled him. Later, they threw his body into the canal.

Although Safdar made confession before the relatives of the deceased, yet none of them had so far reached the police station for registration of an FIR, police said. However, a case has been registered on the report of the Budhla Sant SHO. -APP
