German govt invites women activists

ISLAMABAD, March 5: As many as six Pakistani women activists have been invited to Germany under the official visitors programme of the German government and its parliament.

German Ambassador Dr Christoph Brummer will host a lunch for those invited by his government on Thursday. The Pakistani women activists would meet politicians, visit to federal and provincial ministries and research institutions as well as the newly setup Centre for Gender Studies at the Humboldt University of Berlin, says a press release.

The delegation of women activists includes adviser to the prime minister on women development Nilofar Bakhtiar, Sindh minister for women development Dr Saeeda Malik, National Commission on the Status of Women Justice (retired) Majida Rizvi, MNA Fauzia Wahab, Fatima Jinnah Women's University vice-chancellor Prof Najma Najam, and Kinnaird College for Women principal Prof Mira Phailbus.
