Pakistan, India to clash in U-17 Cup

NEW DELHI, Jan 1: Defending champions India and Pakistan will play at least one match in Asia Cup under-17 cricket tournament this month as both have been grouped together. However, venues of matches are yet to be finalised.

Both the countries would meet on Jan 22 in a league match of second and final phase of the tournament, held from Jan 13-27 under aegis of Asian Cricket Council (ACC).

Phase two schedule:

Jan 19: India vs. Pool A winner; Pakistan vs. Pool C winner.

Jan 20: India vs. Pool C winner; Pakistan vs. Pool A winner.

Jan 22: India vs. Pakistan; Pool A winner vs. Pool C winner.

Jan 25: Semifinals.

Jan 27: Final (all venues to be decided).

Pool A: Malaysia, Nepal, Qatar, Brunei

Pool B: UAE, Afghanistan, Kuwait, Oman

Pool C: Singapore, Iran, Thailand, Bahrain

Pool D: Hong Kong, Bhutan, Saudi Arabia, Maldives

Group I: India, Pakistan and Group A and C winners

Group II: Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Group B and D winners.-PPI
