Love letter by Henry VIII to Anne Boleyn on show

LONDON: A letter from Henry VIII to Anne Boleyn containing the words “H seeks AB, No Other Rex”, written while he was still married to Catherine of Aragon, will soon go on display for the first time in an exhibition at the British Library.

It has been preserved for almost 500 years in the archives of the Vatican in Rome – the institution that condemned the Tudor king’s attempts to annul his first marriage.

The letter, written in the first days of January 1528, will be included in an exhibition at the British Library in April celebrating the 500th anniversary of Henry becoming king.—Dawn/The Guardian News Service
