KHAIRPUR: Sizzling heat claims four lives

KHAIRPUR, May 13: Four persons died while 12 others, including a minor child, fell unconscious due to the severe heat wave here on Monday.

The mercury touched 49 degree Celsius in the town.

Hundreds of chickens also died at poultry farms.

The bazaars wore a deserted look as people chose to remain indoor.

Those who died included Mohammad Buksh, resident of Tally village, Zubeda, 12, resident of Pir Jo Goth, a labour, Paryal, resident of Ahmedpur, and a Hindu trader.
