Land dispute claims three lives
LARKANA, Jan 9: Three people were killed in firing between two rival groups of Jagirani clan over land dispute in Haji Karim Bakhsh Jagirani village on Friday.
The deceased include Noor Ahmed Jagirani, Sardar Jagirani and a pedestrian Basheer Ahmed Gopang of Palyo Gopang village.
The alleged killers sprayed a volley of bullets as Noor Ahmed and Sardar Ahmed were about to enter into the mosque for Friday prayers, said sources adding that the dispute had already claimed eight lives.
Relatives of deceased Jagiranis demonstrated and blocked Larkana-Ratodero road while their opponents opened fire at protestors and a stray bullet hit a pedestrian Basheer Gopang who died on the spot which further tensed the situation.
Police arrived at the scene and called Rangers to contain the situation. The rival groups had taken positions in the village. Police in an attempt to stop further loss lobbed tear gas shells and resorted to aerial firing. Reports said that villagers too, fired at police.
The incident had created tension while no report was registered till the filing of this report. Bodies had been shifted to the mortuary of Chandka Medical College Hospital.
FIR: A clerk of the court of civil judge Qambar got registered an FIR at Qambar police station against unknown persons for stealing weapons from ‘Malkhana’ on Friday.
Nazeer Kalhoro, a court official in his FIR said that on visiting Malkhana, he found 11 Kalashnikovs, two T.T pistols and one repeater missing.
He said someone had used master key to unlock Malkhana and took away weapons. The alleged thieves locked the main door of Malkhana after the heist.
These weapons were kept there as property in different cases. Police began probe into the incident but no arrest was made.
