MIRPURKHAS: Taluka Samaro Nazim booked in murder case
MIRPURKHAS, May 13: The Nazim of Samaro Taluka, Sardar Ghulam Mustafa Khaskheli, said on Monday said that he had been booked in a murder case by “influential landlords to further their vested interests”. Khaskheli has been charged of assassinating Gobind Ram Lohana.
Talking to newsmen at village Haji Abdul Ghafoor Mehar near Samaro, he said that though the police considered him to be an absconder, but he was freely moving around in his village.
He said that this speaks of his innocence in the fabricated murder case. He also feared for his life.
RAILWAY POLICE: Railway police Mirpurkhas have registered a case under Section 5-A, Explosive Act 1908, on Monday against unknown accused in connection with recovery of arms from the bathroom of a bogie of Mehran Express.
It may be recalled that the law-enforcement agencies two days back had recovered a seizable quantity of arms from the bathrooms of a Mirpurkhas-bound Mehran Express train bogie.
Police also arrested a passenger, Yasir Hameed (20), on suspicion. The suspect is in remand for seven days.
VIALS SOLD ILLEGALLY: Thousands of costly vials of Hepatitis-B were sold out unauthorizedly to the private doctors and medical stores by some officials of the Health Department, Mirpurkhas, during the last one year.
This was revealed in a probe conducted by Dr Illahi Bux Soomro, EDO Health Mirpurkhas. Qaimuddin Mehar, vaccinator, Taluka Hospital Kot Ghulam Muhammad had been suspended and charge-sheeted.
ROBBERS HELD: At least two robbers were arrested by Mirpurkhas police while one of their accomplice managed to escape the other day.
The town police claimed that three robbers intruded into the house of Raju Kishan Masih at Marvi Town and robbed then of a mobile phone set.
Police cordoned off the Memon Cotton Factory and Sultanabad Cotton Factory where the robbers had taken refuge.
The robbers identified as Aftab Shah and Juma Bheel belonged to Sanghar district. The police also seized TT pistols, bullets and a stolen bike.
The members of police party have been rewarded with certificates and cash of Rs 200 each.
BOOKED: The Kot Ghulam Mohammad police have booked three persons for stealing water the other day. According to the FIR, Wan Singh Kholi and two unknown were tampering with watercourse, 2L of Puran Distry.
